Dear Community Members:

            This letter is to inform you of a Special Members’ Meeting held by the Driftwood Heights Association, on October 1, 2022, at 10:00 am, in the conference room of the Camano Island Library. This meeting is scheduled at the request of membership following special membership meeting held on August 27,2022. The purpose of that meeting was to update the membership on the following:

1. Property Liability insurance reinstated
2. Bank accounts and signature cards updated, all funds verified and returned to original accounts.
3. Postal Mailbox reinstated
4. Vendors and contractors reassured, all paid up to date.
5. Gathering records in preparation for audit of finances for last two years
6. Review of beach conditions and projects

Meeting Agenda:

1. Report on Attorney review of following:
2. Membership” requirements. What documentation is required to prove “Property Ownership”.
3. Clarification of “revokable and irrevocable trusts” regarding “Property Ownership”.
4. Who can make, second, and vote on motions.
5. Who can be a “Proxy”
6. Need to fill vacant Board positions.
7. Prepare candidate vetting form
8. Solicit and vet candidates for vacant board positions
9. Schedule election
10. Report on Attorney review of “Shareholder/Membership” Certificates.

            The new beach access gate lock combination Is in the letter that has been sent out. After opening it please rotate tumblers, if you leave them lined up to current combination, it will give the combination to anyone who looks at the lock. Please do not share this number. Beach access is for Driftwood Heights residents. Visitors can use the beach only when accompanied by a resident.

            We are working to restore membership confidence in your association’s board, it is important for the membership to attend these open meetings so that you are informed and can provide your input to ensure the board is working for the community.

Volunteer Board Position Open

Driftwood Heights Home Owners Association

The Driftwood Heights Home Owners Association has an opening on their Board of Directors for a Secretary.  The position is a volunteer position and open to home owners in the Association.

The position is responsible for taking and maintaining minutes at the Annual Meeting and Board meetings (once a quarter).  The Secretary maintains the official membership roster and Association records and is responsible for sending out the Certificate of Ownership and Welcome Letter to all new home owners.  A minimum amount of time is required of this position per month.

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Saturday, May 12 is the Annual Board Meeting for Driftwood Heights Association at 10 AM at the Camano Island library.  Hope to see you all there!

There was a package stolen from a doorstep this week on Margie Ann.  The Sheriff has been notified and neighbors saw a kid run up and then off with something under a blanket under their arm.  If possible, please keep an eye out particularly when you see a delivery truck in the area and notify the sheriff’s office ((360) 629-2224) if you see anything that looks out of line.

EMERGENCY WATER SHUT DOWN.  WE ARE OUT OF WATER TODAY, SUNDAY.  WE WILL ATTEMPT TEMPORARY REPAIRS.  DO NOT USE ANY WATER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!  WE NEED ALL RESIDENTS THAT HAVE LAWN SPRINKLER SYSTEMS TO ENSURE THOSE SYSTEMS ARE TURNED OFF.  WE LOST AROUND 50 THOUSAND GALLONS OF WATER LAST NIGHT.
